Sales Tax Collection
PrecisionMade DFW is based in Texas and collects sales tax as required by law.
Sales tax is automatically calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.
Applicable state and local taxes will be displayed before payment is completed.
Tax rates are determined by destination and product type.
If your order is subject to sales tax, it will appear as a separate line item on your invoice.
Texas Sales Tax
Orders shipped to addresses within Texas are subject to Texas sales tax unless a valid exemption applies.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Personalized printed products
Custom engraved items
Vinyl graphics and decals
Physical 3D printed products
Sales Outside of Texas
For orders shipped outside of Texas:
Sales tax may be charged depending on state laws and tax nexus requirements
Tax calculations are handled automatically by our checkout system
Customers are responsible for any use tax obligations required by their state if sales tax is not collected at checkout
Tax-Exempt Purchases
If you are a tax-exempt organization (such as a school, nonprofit, or government entity):
A valid Texas Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate must be submitted before placing an order
Exemption documentation must match the billing name on the order
Once approved, qualifying purchases will not be charged sales tax
To request tax-exempt status, please contact us prior to checkout.
Custom & Personalized Products
Most products offered by PrecisionMade DFW are customized or made-to-order.
Please note:
Custom products are generally not eligible for resale exemptions
Personalized items are taxable in many jurisdictions
Design Assistance services are considered part of the finished product and may be taxable
Design Services & Digital Components
Design Assistance services are provided as part of a physical product order.
Design fees may be taxable depending on jurisdiction
Standalone digital design files are not sold at this time
No digital-only deliverables are provided unless explicitly stated
3D Printing Services
For 3D printed products:
Physical printed parts are subject to applicable sales tax
Customers must provide print-ready files
PrecisionMade DFW does not offer custom CAD modeling or engineering services at this time
Compliance & Recordkeeping
PrecisionMade DFW maintains proper records for:
Sales transactions
Tax collected and remitted
Exemption certificates (when applicable)
Invoices and receipts are available for customer records and accounting needs.
Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for:
Providing accurate billing and shipping information
Determining resale or use tax obligations when applicable
Ensuring exemption documentation is valid and current
